About Me

CURRENT MISSION
To positively change the world, one smile at a time.

ABOUT ME
I'm an avid traveler and love to visit anywhere I can!

I've lived in England, and have traveled extensively throughout Western Europe. I have traveled throughout the USA, Mexico, Australia, and the Caribbean. I've recently completed a year studying and working in London, England followed by a semester spent studying in Bangkok, Thailand.

I'm truly addicted to traveling... and passionate about international education after participating in study abroad programs.

I've passionate about traveling now because you never know what could happen in the future that could limit your ability to travel (old age, disability, etc). Why do what you can do tomorrow, when you can do it today?

I'm a private pilot and love to fly. There's nothing better than to fly over the Bay Area and view sights like the Golden Gate bridge, Alcatraz island, the Stanford campus and the pacific coast at 3,500 feet. :)

One of the best things traveling teaches you is to be less materialistic. You learn that having the nicest newest car may make you 'look good' but that it just prohibits you from traveling ($30 grand for a new car? That's 30+ flights to the UK I could go on!). You also learn that every aspect in life - from traveling to work to family to friends - is all about the PEOPLE. It's not necessarily about what you do, or where you do it, but its about who you do it with.

PHILOSOPHY
Life is too short to complain and be static. Go out there and get what you want!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Meet the most incredible CS'ers and enjoy every minute of it! I hope to host people wherever I am in the world and payback the unique opportunities I receive from couch surfing with others.

I love CouchSurfing as it is a great way to meet new people who share the same passion for traveling that I have. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
San Jose, California, USA - 2010
Orlando, FL - May thru June 2008
Washington, DC - June thru July 2008
London, England - 2008-2009
Bangkok, Thailand - 2009

Couchsurfing has gotten me as excited as I was when I first started traveling to new places! I cannot believe the energy and information sharing that goes on between CS'ers. My life is forever changed for the better. :)

Interests

Flying (I have my private pilots license in the States), reading travel novels, traveling!!!

International Education
After participating in several study abroad programs, I am interested in working for and promoting international education programs. Our view of the world and life's problems changes drastically after traveling and I would love to encourage more people throughout the world to exchange cultural knowledge through travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies
Love Actually, The Holiday, Big Fish, Star Wars (mostly because I love to drool at Harrison Ford and Ewan McGregor!), Amelie, Paris Je Taime, French Kiss, You've Got Mail (Can you tell I'm a romantic?!?!), Shawshank Redemption, Terminator, Black Hawk Down, Sin City, The Incredibles, A Good Year, Juno, all Indian Jones' movies (including the latest Crystal Skull one!), Sex in the City the Movie, Travelers and Magicians (A Bhutanese movie)

Music
I like all music, but especially dance (not techno so much), hip-hop, R&B, and some rap.

My favorite song right now is Sam Sparro's "Black and Gold" (click to see the video)

Books
I've always been a book worm, and the habit has followed me from my childhood days into my adulthood. I like to read business books and travel narratives mostly. I have WAY too many books, so much that my two stacks of bookshelves are overcrowded and stacked upon stacks of books. If we were to have another earthquake in California I would be covered in books! LOL
