About Me

ABOUT ME

I currently live in an exploration camp as a geologist, and I lack an address... as soon as I get back though, I'll be getting my own place and I can actually start being an active participant on this website again! More on that in the future... For now...

I'll talk about anything and am in general a very open, indiscriminating individual, which seems to be nothing new in the context of this site! Maybe I'm actually Megaman personified. I haven't decided.

PHILOSOPHY

Be a positive force in the universe. It might not thank you for it, but if you are indeed a positive force, you'll thank yourself. I think it makes plenty of sense.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been AWOL as far as this website is concerned...so, I participate in couchsurfing by getting the guys who work there to send me address-change card after address-change card.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm usually the one with the couch person! Had an evicted friend of mine stay for a couple months once. Even when, at the same time, I took care of a buddy's cat for a couple weeks and it ended up pissing on his stuff. Ah, patience! ...That was an evil cat.

Had some good experiences in Iceland. They were my first guest experiences and I loved the people there.

I once found a girl passed out in the foyer of my apartment building. Turns out she had forgotten her keys. I poked my head around the corner to see if her door was open and not locked like it was, and subsequently offered her our couch.
So we're hanging out and she kinda loud because she's soundly smashed, and so my roommate wakes up, and they recognize each other!
And this is how small the world can be. Sometimes it's quite nice.

Interests

There isn't much, actually nothing I can think of that I'm not interested in to some degree. I'm a science guy with an artsy brain so it's sort of like a Rube-Goldberg machine in my head 24-7. In particular I like food and music a lot. I usually have some publicly accessible musical gear, and I can play my bass for you, especially if you want to pick up the guitar.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love old-school progressive rock. Genesis w/ Gabriel, Jethro Tull, 70's Yes, Gentle Giant, et. al. If anyone would come over and dominate the keys with some Firth of Fifth, I would play along on bass and then die happy.

I enjoy documentaries a lot: My favourite movie is Jesus Camp because it's such an exposure.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Existence is pretty bizarre!

Teach, Learn, Share

A friend of mine expressed it to me this way and I liked it; I know a thing or two about a thing or two :)
Ideally I'd like to learn everything! Good old mortality though, eh? Though I suppose if we were all immortal we wouldnt enjoy hedonism as much. What a trade-off!
