About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see the world and expand my mind on people and different culture
ABOUT ME
I'm From Calgary and have lived there for 25 years.
I have not really been traveling like this before, I have been on road trips down to the United States for a month or two, but this really takes it.
I've always wanted to see the world, for its history and its culture as well as meeting people from different places. Meeting people from different cultures and learning the history is what trips like this are all about for me. We have been so lucky so far on this trip meeting different and fantastic people along the way and hope to continue that all the way through.
PHILOSOPHY
Honestly before we left on our trip I thought life was just to work and make money and have a family. I know now that is so wrong. I'm living my life to fill my head with memories and with fantastic tales and pictures of the planet and its people. I now live for the moment and enjoy every minute of it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
By hosting people when I can and giving them a nice place to stay. depending on schedules I usually pick the surfers up from the bus station or airport Because transit here is not that great.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have stayed with many many people in my couch surfing lifetime, although its not on my profile, we were using Ashley,my Friends profile but figured it would be a good idea to add myself so people can learn who we both are.
Every person who has hosted us has been amazing, full of local information and just excellent hosts. We learned more from what they said then you could read in any book.
Interests
Getting to see the world is one of my greatest interests. I also love Sports, but hockey is my favorite sport out there, especially when it comes to the Calgary Flames! I also love to drive, its more of a passion to drive then an interest but its still going down on this page. Music is interesting too.. watching, listening or participating its rad!
I'm kind of a computer geek too Haha

Music, Movies, and Books
Good question. this one is always fun to answer.
Movies that stick around in my brain.. its blank.....
Crank! that movie was just great, Transporter 1 and 2 were also good movies, The great escape.. oldie but goldie hah.. its a sweet flick. If it keeps me interested I'm into it. for music, you name it I'm almost 100% that Ill like it, but to hit the top I'm really liking Angels and Airwaves, +44, Blink 182. Also Breaking Benjamin is great as well. I music where people play their own instruments.
Books... I don't really read alot but 'A Million Little Pieces' was good, and I like the HG Wells books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Best and most mind expanding experience was in South Africa. We played a game of football(soccer) with the local township guys, a full 90 min. game where we got to meet, and get to know some of the locals that live in the township. After the game we had lunch at the one of the guys "cas" house and he made a local chicken dish. Talking and exchanging experiences with them was really cool. After lunch we all went to the local bar and had some drinks with them, played some pool and just enjoyed the day with them. One of them said "I cant wait to tell my mother what I did today." I felt the same way. He had never sat and got to converse with white people before. It made me sad that the world can be that way but amazing to be in that situation and let them know what people can be like. Best time ever
