About Me

CURRENT MISSION

serve, spread smiles and enjoy seeing the world in the process! :D

ABOUT ME

I love traveling. I consider it one, if not THE activity that makes me feel most alive.

I love discovering and learning about different cultures. I think most of the conflicts between people and nations arise because of fear based on lack of understanding about each other. This is why I'm really psyched about Couchsurfing, which I hope will become an outstanding venue for me to make new friends and do my bit in extending hospitality to our ever growing global village.

I've worked as a media practitioner, international volunteer, information/communications, mobilizer and campaigner for various causes such as human rights (child trafficking), youth participation, health and the MDGs.

PHILOSOPHY

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle, the other is as though everything is a miracle.” – Albert Einstein.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can have the craziest, most unforgiving schedule, but I attend meet-ups whenever I can :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first ever CS experience was when I surfed with a lovely friend in Belgium. I've been meeting a lot of wonderful people ever since and could only wish that I knew about CS much much earlier! :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I try to watch as many art (foreign films) as I can. My type of music mainly depends on my mood. As for the books I read, well, if I have the luxury of not having to wield an academic or work-related book, then I dig into those recommended by friends. It really varies; I can go from something as heavy as concentration camp accounts, to something as simple as 'The Little Prince.'

I just think that the key to enjoyment is to open oneself up to a lot of different tastes too :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been to the "other side," haha, if there's such a thing.

Let's just say that I drowned and literally lost consciousness as a 4 year old (on my birthday swimming party) and I faintly remember seeing "the light."

So everything I do now is more like a second chance for me to enjoy life! :D

Teach, Learn, Share

I am so interested to learn another language... I'm so bad at it though :( I tried enrolling twice in a language school for French and Spanish. I never went past the 3rd three-hour lesson, hahaha :)

Recently, I discovered that I have a basic talent of learning Filipino (derived largely from American) sign language which to me, is a foreign language altogether! :D
