About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to appreciate the sublime in the ordinary and enjoy being a work in progress.
ABOUT ME
I spend my days playing with seven year olds. I often spend nights planning games to play with seven year olds. I used to live in Istanbul. Before that Taiwan. At one point even Canada. I've loved each of them. Now I'm in Tokyo, playing games with seven year olds. I love arts. I love politics. I love the places where art and politics go for lunch. I imagine they eat mangoes.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've been quasi-hosting friends' surfers for the past years without being on the board myself. Now, I get on board. From here on in, I'm legit. ish.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In third grade I would stay over at my best friend's house when his parents went out for the night. We would take the cushions off the couch and surf them down his broadloomed stairs towards the front door. Generally we ended up somersaulting thrashingly down the last few stairs and thumping up against the front door. Which causes problems when his parents have just returned home and opened it.

Music, Movies, and Books
Eduardo Galeano. If you haven't read him, do it. He has a particularly honed sensitivity to the sublime potential of the moment. Beautiful.
Among many many others: Rufus Wainwright, Belle & Sebastian, Nina Simone, Jurassic 5, a particularly fantastic Missy Elliot and George Michael mash-up I downloaded. Who knew?
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Solo-trekked on horseback up the northernmost valley of the Pakistani Himalayas for a jaw-droppingly gorgeous three days.
Performed an Afro-Brazilian slave martial art, on-stage at a very swishy Taiwanese mall, alongside my crew of overpaid, under-qualified expat English teachers. Was paid in tea sets.
Shared a messy early-morning mango on a cloud forest riverside.
Been challenged by the number one.
