About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To plan a little further in advance so i can actually do this couchsurfing thing!
ABOUT ME
Ok first of all, just to make things clear, Im a Kiwi but I dont live here. Australia is where i am at the moment but NZ is always going to be my home (although sometimes I do wish it did have Australia's weather). First generation, but hear me speak and you would swear i had come over on the first 4 ships (sometimes/often i need a translator when speaking to people that dont have english as their 1st language)
My 'normal' life did involve working short contracts around Australia - following the money and free accomidation in order to fund travels.
I have given this up in the last year or so to settle in Brisbane. I am still unsure of my decision.
I think the most importaint thing in my life is my happiness, so i do what makes me happy! :) But a couple of things that dont make me happy include:
inconsiderate umbrella weilders (i am surprised i still have my eyes!)and,
people who invade my personal space in queues (there are still the same number of people infront of u whether i can feel your breath on the back of my neck or not)
But a couple of simple things that make me happy inculde:
Boulder hopping
And Skating across shiny floors in my socks :)
I have just become active again after a few years away from CS so my profile may be a bit out of date.... a bit hard to correct on my little phone
PHILOSOPHY
To take life back to the basics - I would love to live a totally self sufficient life. Unfortunately this doesn't gel too well with wanting to travel the world (the whole money thing....) so for now i just continue to try to leave as small a footprint on this earth as possible, while exploring as much as possible
Travel is not crossing things off the list - live it, immerse yourself, walk eveywhere, take time to sit by the river and just observe.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far i have only surfed, and not been able to host - now I have my own place am looking forward to paying it forward.
UPDATE:
started hosting recently and it has been great. Look forward to doing it more.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
everyone i speak to has had atleast one horror story, but all my hosts and surfers have been great!

Music, Movies, and Books
I worked in a bookshop for 5 years so I will read anything handed to me - always good when swapping books with fellow travellers.
Not that I'm biased, but.... Kiwi music rocks! I like my folk, dub, lounge, ska, d'n'b, certain rap/hip hop, indie rock, house, indie....
Can't beat live music: festivals, gigs, sunday jam sessions, buskers on the footpath, concerts.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
White water sledging in Rotorua - think white water rafting but with a boggie board, helmet, and really thick wetsuit (for both the 8deg water and the rocks u try to avoid)
