About Me
CURRENT MISSION
reading all the unread books in my bookcase.
ABOUT ME
I'm Geri. i am old in spirit but young at heart! I've hosted through here for a few years, and it's always been wonderful. it's probably one of the most natural things i've done.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host when I can, and try meeting couchsurfers during my travels. It's been one of my favorite ways to meet new people that possess an openness that can be rare, and many of my CS guests have turned into lifelong friends, travel partners, even roommates!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted a lot, couchsurfed a little, and i try to make a couchsurfing connection whenever i visit a new place. these days i'm so busy with city life that it's hard to host in the attentive way that i'd like.
Interests
well, i really like things that take me outdoors, that are mellow, crafty, or that involve warm company and warm food! but, i find so many different things pleasurable, and i like trying out mostly anything.
i live pretty abundantly, so i'm always out and about.
- books
- dining
- reading
- outdoor activities
Music, Movies, and Books
andrew bird, balkan music, early duke ellington / jazz, nick drake/ vashti bunyan/ freak folk, banjos and old-timey stuff, minimal music, yann tiersen, chopin and classical, ambient/drone!, and good dancing music.
i'm usually carrying around/ sleeping next to a book of literature, philosophy, poetry, or on a topic about which i'm curious.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
-rode on top of a jeep crammed with four other friends in Colombia (the jeep itself was too full, so this was our only option) during sunset in the rain, on a highway!
-hiking up to the mountain behind my apartment when i lived in Vermont to watch the full moon.
-driving for miles on abandoned road in Iceland, passing extreme microclimates, wild horses, craters, volcanoes, geysers, you name it!
-witnessing my 91 year old grandmother, mostly blind, still awake every morning to tend to her house and admire her plants + fruit trees. she lives alone and is still so with it.
Teach, Learn, Share
i can teach basic knitting skills, spanish/some french, info about Colombia and Boston, of course.
we've got plenty of board games, and an ice cream maker!
