ABOUT ME

I have recently retired and am enjoying spending my time making pots. James still works (he is into his fifth career) and we have two daughters 32 and 28 who live independently now. We have kept a cow, goats, pigs, geese and other animals on our field in the past, but now we are trying to grow vines and make wine.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is short so enjoy it. But not at the expense of shortening the lives of those yet to come by wasting the planet.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

James and I have spent significant parts of our lives traveling, together and separately, as have our daughters and we have always met with great kindness. We enjoy meeting people from other countries and want to contribute to increasing a better understanding of other people and cultures.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have hosted a number of people and have found the experience interesting and feel we have made many new friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Classical, jazz, some modern, gamalang for music. Films, books, art galleries and theatre. I enjoy lots of authors and types of books have been part of a reading group for many years

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have seen thousands of bats flying out of a cave at dusk and James has watched a polar bear emerge from its winter hibernation

Teach, Learn, Share

I have mastered a number of practical skills over the years some I could pass on to others when they visit our home if they are interested, when traveling I could cook, sew or garden if there is the right equipment.
