ABOUT ME

We are a married couple looking to see the world and show others our corner of the world as well. Originally from completely opposite sides of the US, Southern California and Northern Maine, we love taking road trips whenever possible--usually camping along the way. We recently served two years with the Peace Corps in the Republic of Macedonia. Now we are living and working in Sohar, Oman. We are both teachers by profession (Dan is a high school history teacher, while Jillian is an elementary teacher) and are loving our time teaching abroad, combining our professional pursuits with our personal interests. We have two amazing children--both born in Oman! Our daughter, Rory, was born in spring, 2012, and our son Max was born in fall, 2013.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We're interested in the couch surfing experience because it's a great opportunity to see the world, meet adventurous people, and share experiences with other like-minded travelers.

We enjoy traveling (of course), hiking, camping, backpacking, running, anything you can do outside, teaching, learning, reading, maps, politics, our jobs, public transportation, each other, music, dark beer, and dark wine.

It is impossible to narrow our musical and reading interests into a representative comprehensive list. We're book worms and have ecclectic tastes in music. Right now I'm reading, "David and Goliath" by Malcolm Gladwell and listening to Vampire Weekend.
