About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Discover the marvels of the world, meet interesting people, and give back by doing good.
ABOUT ME
It's been a few years since my travels in Europe and Japan and I miss making friends from all over the world. I'm currently finishing up my Master's degree while working at a nonprofit organization. I love what I do and I'm starting to get settled into my career, so hopefully that means I'll get more opportunities to travel again soon.
For me, life is about the people. There's such a wide array of personality, talent, knowledge, and experience that each person has to offer and it's fun discovering and sharing those connections. If people around the world would stop to learn a little more about the people around them, I definitely think the world would be a better place.
PHILOSOPHY
Happiness can be found, but I try to create happiness whenever I can - whether it's for others or for myself. There are times in life when things don't go so well, but I like to stay optimistic and move forward. I feel truly blessed to have what I have today, including the experiences abroad that have impacted me so much. I do what I can to help people around me stay cheerful by being silly and caring when appropriate.
Sing and/or dance a little everyday.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Unfortunately, I cannot host anyone at this time, but if there's an opportunity to meet up, I would love to do so!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've stayed with several amazing people in France, Belgium, and Switzerland and met several more who visited Japan while I was there.
It's been a couple of years since I've really had a chance to travel to new places, so I'd like to start meeting world travelers again.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books - Science fiction is my genre of choice (nerd, I know) and some of my favorite series are The Wheel of Time, Samaria, Harry Potter, and His Dark Materials. I also liked Dan Brown's books because they are suspenseful, and books like Life of Pi and The Kite Runner are very moving and have taught me a lot about life.
Music - I listen mostly to jazz, gospel, showtunes, enka, and pop. Without music in general, my life wouldn't be complete. Some of the most amazing voices include The Real Group, Angela Aki, The New York Voices, The Manhattan Transfer, Sayuri Ishikawa, and Owl City.
Movies - I don't watch many movies, but those that are funny and/or fantastical (The Emperor's New Groove, Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi, The Incredibles, Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulin, Bienvenue Chez les Ch'tis to name a few) can easily entertain me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been pretty boring so far, but I think that my stays in Paris and Tokyo were quite amazing.
As for what I've seen, there are so many awesome people that I encounter on a daily basis who are truly inspiring!
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a variety of little things to teach, but so much more to learn. I'm kind of quiet and I tend to listen a lot more than talk, but I hope to be able to share something useful with the people that I meet as well.
I believe that human connections are extremely important to each and every one of us. Sure, some things will have to take priority at times and we definitely won't be able to become friends with everyone with whom we cross paths, but making those connections is one of the most fulfilling things about life.
