About Me

CURRENT MISSION

You only live life once! Why settle down and miss everything life has to offer

ABOUT ME

When I have time available, I head into the mountains, the hills, the river, or anywhere else where I can find myself, my true inner self. I want to be able to look back at life 20, 30, or 40 years from now and say "Wow, I did everything I wanted to in life". As the years continue to race along for me, I want to make sure I put them to good use. I think most people come up with some great ideas in their head, but that's it--nothing more that just a dream. Live your dream!!

PHILOSOPHY

I'm fascinated with how well I have it in life! How many people in the world can say that?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm trying a GUESTBOOK on FACEBOOK:
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?v=wall&gid=50949388705
I'm relatively new here, or at least haven't used the service much, but if I end up sea kayaking the Inside Passage solo, it would be nice to see towns from a local's perspective.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Oh, I had some great Trail Angels on the PCT and CDT I met along the way; full of people eager to lend a helping hand to us weary hikers traveling across America on foot. They were dumbfounded at the idea of such a trek, and I enjoyed sharing the experience with them. Two years earlier, hiking along the backbone of America for five months gave me some opportunity to spend time with other former thru-hikers that let me crash at their place--from Helena, MT, to Pie Town, NM. Amazing people!

Interests

Hmmm... where do I start?
Backcountry Skiing, snowcave camping, kayaking, biking, backpacking, windsurfing, volunteering on the Colorado Trail, CDT, etc. I started a hang gliding club in college, and tried paragliding a couple years ago. I haven't flown in several years (too many other things to do).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Too many things to list!
Thru-hiked the Continental Divide Trail from Mexico to Canada in 2007, Climbed Denali in 2003, thruhiked the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine in 1997, Ski 13ers, 14ers in winter, *tons* of backcountry skiing/camping, etc. I heard about this site years ago. It's about time I try it!
