About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live it up, dance my legs off, and eat my heart out
ABOUT ME
In the words of Ice Cube, I am down for whatever. I am happy doing anything and exploring. Love to live. Big smile. Question everything.I try to get out into nature as much as possible, and California has plenty to offer: mountains for camping, hiking, and snowboarding, the beach. I'm also getting more and more into dancing: Blues, bootie-shaking, and modern fusion.I'm very much into productivity and creating meaningful art: film, theater, poetry, music, comedy, photography, mixed media, painting, and cooking (though I have no talent in the kitchen).
PHILOSOPHY
Pursuit and progress; depth of understanding; feeling alive; question everything

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In the past half-year I've probably surfed more couches than slept in my own bed, whether in LA, Santa Cruz, San Francisco, NYC, DC, London, Jervis Bay (Australia), Israel, you name it. Through CouchSurfing, I've officially surfed couches in El Paso, Miami, and Santa Fe. All three were awesome and totally unique experiences – getting to talk and hang out with my hosts, meeting up with other locals and CSers, and in the case of Santa Fe having a one-night artist commune spring up where five CSers and a few local rando friends of the hosts shared songs and chilled on the roof, much imbibed, until 3 in the morning. I've also grabbed hot chocolate in Tel Aviv, LA, Dallas, and Paris, and picked up a RideSurfer for a cross-country trek in the States. Always a wondrous time.
Interests
Filmmaking: I've just started production on two new feature documentaries! One about romantic love, the other about an emerging religion. I'm also in distribution for my first feature documentary, The Mayor, about an 88-year-old tailchaser living it up in a retirement home in Texas. Directing when I can for both film and theater. I also manage another artist, in addition to writing my own and developing others' one-person autobiographical plays.Deep discussions, public speaking, and learning languages. I've studied French, Spanish, Japanese, Hebrew, German, and Italian, and I try to collect nonsense phrases from as many languages as possible.Music of all kinds. Especially atmospheric and ambient music, classical, modern classical/post-rock (Godspeed You! Black Emperor), metal, and underground hip-hop.Eating amazing and crazy food, such as raw horse, whale, pig ears, and sweet lemons. For me, traveling is largely about the culture, and that means food! I'm not a big guy, but I'm definitely a big food guy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Run through South Central Los Angeles in my underwear with a couple of friends and strangers in the freezing cold, dancing and singing and screaming and jumping off trees and splashing in fountains like beasts in the middle of the glorious night.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to grapple with ideas, offer what I know, ask what I don't know, and learn about every topic, from film to relationships to philosophy to politics. I'm want to know what I don't know.I want to learn to cook better. In university, a classic dish I made that my roommates gave me hell for was: tuna fish, mayo, cheddar cheese, blueberry preserves, banana, and canned pumpkin. Microwaved. Yuuuummy!
