About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Sorround myself with good people and learn a few things about life along the way

ABOUT ME

Hello Couchsurfing Community!! I'm Nicholas. Nice to meet you!

During my first experience abroad as a student in Barcelona, I discovered my passion for languages, teaching, and International Education. Since then, I've been doing my best to keep moving and learning new things.

I spent two years teaching in Fukui, Japan (with the JET Program) which was an amazing experience. It was great being in Japanese countryside!! After my two years, I rode my bike ride across North America (From Canada to Panama) which took about 7 months. A few months later I was back in Japan and starting a new adventure teaching on the Peace Boat. After many exciting changes, I now live here in Tokyo Japan.

I've been keeping busy but love hanging out with and meeting new amazing people on Couchsurfing.

Looking forward to meeting you :)

On my recent trip, My partner and I shared a couchsurfing profile. So, you'll see that most of my references are on this profile http://www.couchsurfing.org/profile.html?id=8N79PSK
sorry for the confusion. :)

PHILOSOPHY

There are way too many things in this world to do, I don't think I'll ever be bored.

"I was wise enough never to grow up, while fooling people into believing I had."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing has been an absolutely amazing experience. It's a refreshing way to get to know people and share your neighborhood or town with new people. . I'm sure that there is something that you can learn from our encounters with each other.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Thus far, I've had really positive experiences surfing and hosting. Even though most couchsurfing relationships and interactions are short, it's amazing the impact that they have had.

Interests

Let's see.... I like the outdoors,.. especially beach volleyball, hiking or cycling. Recently, Iv'e also been trying to learn Mandarin Chinese so I've spent a lot of time studying in cafes.

Oh.. and I also love looking at maps

  • education
  • boating
  • outdoor activities
  • cycling
  • hiking
  • surfing
  • volleyball
  • cartography
  • teaching
  • languages
  • language exchange
  • beaches

Music, Movies, and Books

My friend recommend Dharma if you Dare by Doug Duncan. It's not a very popular book so you probably won't find it in a bookstore but it had a great impact on my life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Rode my bicycle from Canada to Panama (7 months) and circumnavigated the world 6 times on Peace Boat (100 days x 6 voyages = lots of days on a boat).

Teach, Learn, Share

I've taught English and some Spanish over the years and I would be extremely happy if anyone out there wanted to do some sort of language exchange. I can do some basic bicycle repair. :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

The names of my favourite bakeries in Tokyo, stories, laughs

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada, Japan, Mexico, United States
