I have embraced the Universe as my University. I am pursuing a self designed curriculum this 2008 Summer.

ABOUT ME

I am a mother ,student and mentor. My children are Velvet(18) Derrill(13) Joseph(7). Velvet lives in Texas with her father. The boys and I have lived in Colorado for only 4 ½ years. We moved from Texas for the educational opportunity available in Delta county Colorado through the Vision Program. The boys are active outdoor types, full of questions and have never met a stranger.
I have embarked on a journey of self discovery, and alternative/democratic education training. The long term goal is to found a learning community unlike any other.
I enjoy: woodworking, sewing, looking at a situation/problem with the intention of seeing a solution, hiking, swimming, cake decorating, taking advice from children, play, work, quite time, meeting new friends, travel, orderliness, welcoming environments.
My current sources of study are: Calling in “The One”, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People/Teens/Families, Real Love the truth about unconditional love and fulfilling relationships, Vipassana, staying in touch and how best to do so, sustainability to name a few.

PHILOSOPHY

Simplify whenever possible. Relationship take presidents over ALL else. Unconditional Love is real and my guiding light. When I fall on my face I will pick myself up, dust myself off and start all over again. Allow people to see the real me; flaws, talents and all. Stay in touch with my inner child, she keeps me balanced.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Every where I go I ask people if they have heard of couchsurfing, if not I tell them about it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I traveled the US coast to coast the summer of 2008. I was able to couch surf while attending conferences. That allowed my limed resources to go much further. One couch I surfed I did not find in the traditional manner, we met at a Vancouver bus stop. When I am open to all it's amazing what comes my way.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I took my first Lindy Hop dance lessons Spring 2014 and attended the Frankie 100 in NY May 2014. 47 countries were represented. I personal danced with partners from 16 countries. It was a once in a life time opportunity and thanks to my birthday gift from Mike I was able to be there!

I stood next to a snow bank 14 feet tall, the sun looked like an amazing white star and the lake looked like a pure white valley far below ringed by a forest of evergreens heavy with snow.

I saw the sun set three times in one evening.

I watched a sun set for 3 and a half hours one eveing.

I discovered the black sand at the lakeside was magnetic.

Snow really does sparle like glitter.
