About Me
ABOUT ME
to begin with ...
Bobby: I’m 24 and I didn’t own a passport until I was 23. I graduated from Arizona State University and grew up in Connecticut. I’m a Peace Corps Volunteer in Tonga and I love dogs.
Alicia: I grew up in the southeast US (back and forth between the metro-Atlanta area and the North Carolina coast) and graduated in 2007 from Kennesaw State University in northwest Georgia with a bachelors degree in biology. I joined Peace Corps and moved to Tonga in October 2007 to teach English in a government primary school (that’s technically my job, but I spend more time at home, reading or lounging around more than anything else); recently I’ve started hanging out with the Tonga’s Division of Fisheries’ aquaculture and community management departments.
PHILOSOPHY
Bobby: "It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees." -Emiliano Zapata
Alicia: "I live chaos, it’s more fun that way: you never know what’s going to happen next and half the time you can’t remember what you just did." - Me, sometime in college
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
A friend ours (another volunteer) first told us about couchsurfing about a year ago and raves about it all the time. Since we both live so far outside of town, we’ve more or less had to live our couchsurfing experience vicariously through the other Peace Corps volunteers that have hosted surfers.
Interests
Bobby: UEFA Champions League, reading about everything, criticizing government bureaucracies that I happen to work for, planning trips I can’t afford
Alicia: I dabble in a little bit of everything and a lot of nothing at all just to say that I’ve been there and done that
