About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To blow my saxophone.

ABOUT ME

I play folk-rock-raggae on guitar and banjo. I also play drums, piano, harmonica, tin whistle, bass guitar, saxophone and sing and write songs. Bob Dylan and Bob Marly are my biggest heros. I grew up in a really really small town in Nova Scotia and was drawn to music as a child. My father was a lobster fisherman, so I grew up on a boat. My parents took me to see my family in Nigeria when I was fifteen. I loved travelling, always have, but seeing Africa and stopping in London made me want to see more! I did a student exchange in Germany, and upon graduating high school, I started hitchhiking. I've done Canada four times now, and still love it.

PHILOSOPHY

I live for a good time, I believe one can manifest anything good or bad, and music is my key to the enlightenment of the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I see no borders and live my dreams. I bring music everywhere I go, and respect all 'round.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Used to crash on couches all the time when visiting friends in cities. Went to live with a friend, Jaron Tripp, in Germany once and crashed on his couch for three months. He introduced me to couchsurfing. I hosted lots of great people when I had a place in Victoria B.C. and even went on a random road trip through couchsurfing once.

Interests

Music, dancing, painting, sculpting things, getting dirty, getting sunburns, canoeing and kayaking, climbing mountains, learning new songs, busking, partying, running, snowboarding, walking, and laughing.

On The Road and The City of Joy are my favorite books.
I listen to Manu Chau, Diouf, Seeed, Chromeo, Thievery Corporation, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Ali Farka Toure, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Gnawa Diffusion, Easy Star All Stars, Krishna Das, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, and many many others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I grew up off grid without electricity or running water, in a house in the woods, inaccessible by car.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think the greatest piece of abstract art ever made is clouds in the sky.
