ABOUT ME

a bit of a dreamer I have a passion for thoughtful conversation and am interested in most things related to living ...

Love being outside, crafting and laughing at cheesy jokes but I am equally introspective and hardworking. Often struggling to find balance between my work and social life because I really (really) love what I do.

poetry slams and comedy are like food for my soul, I love the truthfulness and vulnerability. I stay active with bike rides and my sweaty jumping around morning routine but also do lots of meditation, self-awareness and body connection stuff. Also love painting, carving, gardening and writing whenever I get the chance.

These days I’m pretty focused on doing the deep and dirty work so I’m pretty big on boundaries. Working hard to surround myself with people who are courageous in facing their sh*tand who are figuring out their stories, feels and trying to be more loving. I’m also really enjoying being settled after years of travel and hitchhiking!

Some signs and symptoms of inner peace.
Hmm… I’ve come across many couchsurfers who seem to be infected with this…

• A tendency to think and act spontaneously rather than on fears based on past experiences.
• An unmistakable ability to enjoy each moment.
• A loss of interest in judging other people.
• A loss of interest in judging self.
• A loss of interest in interpreting the actions of others.
• A loss of interest in conflict.
• A loss of the ability to worry. (This is a very serious symptom.)
• Frequent, overwhelming episodes of appreciation.
• Contented feelings of connectedness with others and nature.
• Frequent attacks of smiling.
• An increasing tendency to let things happen rather than make them happen.
• An increased susceptibility to the love extended by others as well as the uncontrollable urge to extend it.

Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet is my all time favourite. Also enjoy reading Carol Ann Duffy , Shakespeare, Emily Dickinson, Elaine Maria Upton, Ryokan, Anna Akhmatova, the artists way and a handful of mind blowing books on neurobiology and child development. hum, lots of other good stuff by Naomi Klein, Michael Polland, Byron Katie, and Gabor Mate.

I'm a sucker for good character development as heart-warming or infuriating as it may turn out to be. Movies I loved: intouchables, blue valentine, osage country, blue is the warmest colour, don jon, squid and the whale, blue jasmine, short-term 12, stranger than fiction, Happy Go Lucky, Karen Cries on the Bus, Imagine Me and You, Winter Spring Summer Fall, Planet Earth, Home, & Into the wild + any sundance film fest winners ever

Jane Lynch is my hero. Louis C.K. David Walliums, Jimmy Fallon, Wanda Sykes and Ellen put a smile on my face.

Shows: OITNB, L word, british office, extras, little britain and bbc pride & prejudice... not into horror films or any violence.

love community stuff and the idea of open source skill and tool sharing and am also quite interested in learning more about how to build useful stuff and use permaculture. I can teach a bit of massage stuff and cooking but am not great with following recipes....
