About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Our plan is to live life to the fullest. We want to experience new things, meet new people and leave the world a better place for our children and grand children.
ABOUT ME
We are very active retirees from a lifetime of teaching. We both walk daily, I still enjoy snow ski-ing, and we love the beaches in summer. We also teach voluntarily twice a week, working with refugees and new arrivals to Australia. We are both members of Rotary International.

PHILOSOPHY
'I am only one, but I am one.
I cannot do everything, but I can do something.
And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what
I can do.' Edward Hale
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
When we are at home we enjoy having couch-surfers stay.
Last year we enjoyed the couch surfing experience from the other side when we travelled around UK and Europe for 3 months. Our hosts could not have been more welcoming.Already one of them has been out to Australia and with her friend, stayed with us at the beginning and end of her trip.It was great to meet up again.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Although couch surfers vary greatly in age and background, there is a common thread which runs through the whole couch surfing organisation ....and that is trust.
It takes a degree of trust to welcome strangers into your home like lifelong friends, but we have found that surfers and hosts have that trust and we have actually made lifelong friends because of this.

Music, Movies, and Books
We read, we enjoy many forms of music and we enjoy movies and plays.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2005 Andrew and I both climbed the Gloucester tree in Pemberton Western Australia. There are steel spikes for climbing, in a spiral pattern around the tree, no safety net and the height is eqivalent to a 23 storey building.
I have also trekked in the Himalayas, Nepal.
Teach, Learn, Share
Both passionately interested in politics - local and world politics. And we actively engage. We are both active members of the Australian Labor Party.
Andrew is teaching Australian Citizenship to newly arrived people who would like to become citizens of Australia.I am teaching Cultural English to refugee and newly arrived women to Australia.
We tutor young African-Australians after school in study skills and help with their homework.
We are open to learning new skills ourselves.
