Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I just heard about CS from a friend I met in travel, who only had great things to say about it. So, I thought I'd give it a try and save a lil pocket money.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used to do a little touring with a band, and sometimes people let us stay on their couches instead of sleeping in the cramped up van. I'm a pretty good sleeper, so couch me or floor me and I'll sleep like a baby.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last year I went to Mali. On the way to Timbuktu we stopped in a few tiny villages along the way in the middle of nowhere. There were tons of happy and curious children in each town and I got the idea to pull out my polaroid camera and snap a few portraits and group pictures of these kids. It ended up being very special for them since it will most likely be the only photo they will ever have taken of themselves and with each other. And when they are older they will be able to look back at these pictures and laugh about the times they had when they were that age. It made me feel really good that I was able to do this for them.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well I have found that being spontaneous and open to random experiences lead to the best nights ever. One minute you're sitting on the tube without a plan, the next you're at a rooftop party with your new gay friends on their first date and tons of new people to talk to.
