ABOUT ME
once upon a time there lived a girl beside the sea in south australia. her name was mia, and she wanted to be able to swim underwater like a mermaid. she tried many times but always ended up coughing and spluttering. she decided it must be the ocean that was the problem and embarked on a journey across the high and low seas to find the perfect ocean that would permit underwater breathing.

one day me and my best mate madeleine where on top of the worlds steepest hill in new zealand and we met two nice chaps who had met that morning through couch surfing. we were intrigued and i logged on!

i like dancing to just about all kinds of music both in throbbing groups of people and by myself in the lounge room. music i always come back to: hurray for the riff raff, cyndi lauper, against me, dolly parton, sleater kinney, emmylou harris, martha wainwright, bikini kill, thee satisfaction, kev carmody, jen cloher.

movies that i wanna watch all the time: foxfire, twister, drinking buddies, the hours, x files movie, anything from studio ghibli, orlando, adaptation.

Teach, Learn, Share

i would like to learn how to fair isle knit, be a better gardener, tie knots in rope, and wake up to alarm clocks.

i can teach people the appreciation of gum boots (rain boots, wellingtons, etc. etc) the love of carob, and how to say "what the poodle."

i can share vegan food that might not look good but taste real good
