CURRENT MISSION
figure out what my mission is!...and see as much of the world as possible
ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in Lima, Peru and Ica, Peru. Went to college in Pennsylvania. I nannied in Virginia for a couple months and then in Vancouver/West Vancouver/Gambier Island, BC, Canada, for about a year and a half. Now I'm back in Peru looking for a new adventure sometime soon.
I am always looking for new places to travel or move. I've lived in Peru, the US, and Canada. I've volunteered short-term at children's homes in Lebanon and Honduras. I also had a couple nice long layovers in London a few years ago, so I went into the city and wandered around with my luggage the first time and stayed at a friend's house in Watford the second time. Last year I went to Bermuda and the Bahamas for my college senior trip...I don't know if a college senior trip is a normal thing, but hey, I got to travel with a group discount!
I was raised a traveler. Although usually my family took shorter trips like the 4-hour car trip between Ica and Lima we did some international travel as well. We went to Colombia when I was little. And we traveled all over the States and some of Canada.
Maybe I'm talking too much about my traveling (if it's possible to do so on a CS website), but lately, traveling/moving is my life...though sometimes (not always) I do get tired of it! I've moved 10 times (more or less...it's hard to keep track) within 3 countries since I finished college in December '06. About on Dec 24, '08, I moved back in with my parents for awhile. And then I just moved to a new house with them in March! But I know SO many people who're moving that it makes me wanna just keep traveling even more--with nothing but my 2 backpacks' worth of stuff--and not worry about taking care of a house and belongings, etc...except for my laptop. My laptop is my baby.
I am still looking for my niche in life. I'm hoping to find a job that I really enjoy and that makes a difference in the world. I've thought of working for social justice, Peace Corps, children's homes, etc. But I'm still searching.
I'm the youngest of three siblings. I've always looked up to my sister, who is 2 years older than I am. Her daughter is the most precious one-and-a-half-year-old on the planet and I love her to bits! Her little brother is pretty awesome too! He was just born in February. My brother is 30 but he's always acted about 10 years older than he really is. He's always seemed wise beyond his years. His 2 kids (2-yr-old girl and her baby brother) are also the sweetest things ever.
My parents still live in Peru and have been there for 28 years. They are both professors and my mom keeps herself busy speaking at conferences all over Peru and the world. I'm envious of how much world travel she does!
My first 2 CSing experiences were awesome! For both of them I traveled with my sister and her husband and daughter for the Rhode Island International Film Festival and for the Heartland Film Festival. My sister and her husband had their film in the festivals. Check it out at www.noondayfilms.com
So anyway, my CSing hostesses were wonderful in both Providence and Indy. They showed me around and gave me ideas where to go, and fed me and had nice chats with me and supported my sister's film and introduced me to their friends.... I look forward to CSing again sometime, somewhere, probably soon!
Next big move: NYC later this year!!!
