About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Create a financial model for a tech hardware startup.
ABOUT ME
I'm easy going and friendly. I love meeting new people, but I really value my well-established friendships and my family. I have an open door (and couch) to all adventurous, honest, and friendly people.
I am my biggest project--I'm working to become the best version of myself possible.
PHILOSOPHY
One thought of many: Everyone wants to be trusted--have faith in most people, and they'll respond in kind. The others will pass off the scene soon enough.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
*Note: my profile needs some updates, as I cannot host right now. However, I would love to meet up if all the planets align.*
I share my life with people if I feel like we'd be a good host/CSer match...and naturally, if I'm available.
Note: you should not request to surf with me if you express no reason for choosing my profile over another.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've been hosting people for a while now...it just gets more and more fun! Since I can't travel extensively myself right now, my couchsurfers bring the vacation to me. I'll show you a good time if I'm available to host you.
...
To date (03/11/15) I've hosted 173 Couchsurfers, the vast majority of whom have been a delight to host. Right now I'm looking to scale back a bit because I'm burning out by trying to balance too much. It doesn't mean you shouldn't request, but by all means, don't just copy and paste. Why do you want to stay with me in particular? And tell me about yourself too....
Interests
Good coffee, good scotch, good wine, good beer, going to the beach, weight lifting, cycling, anything adventurous, ice hockey, reading, conversation, new and old friends, my church.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've competed as a barista at the regional and national levels.
I tasted every drink served by every finalist in the 2009 World Barista Championship.
I swam in the Amazon River under a full Brazilian moon.
I completed a bike ride benefitting Multiple Sclerosis research two times--I rode 164 miles in two days on a bicycle.
Teach, Learn, Share
Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Since I'm not a traveller at this point, I'll share some advice to hosts that I've gained from my experience: just relax and trust people. Nobody wants to take your stuff, and they're not going to tear up your place while you're out (they might even clean something!). The amazing experiences of humanity you'll experience from SHARING your home a few days will far outweigh the very rare less than stellar experiences. You miss out on far more by being fearful to host than you do by taking a risk. If you're able to host, open up and let the good times roll!
Countries I’ve Visited
Brazil, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama
