About Me

CURRENT MISSION

It's all a blur, man

ABOUT ME

I've affectionately been called a waste of great potential, but mostly because I'm bad at marketing.

I'm fascinated by different languages, places, people and their stories... what makes them end up where they are, what has shaped them over time. That's why I travel. And hitchhike.

And when nothing very important is happening the next day, I really like to go out, dance, party, drink, etc. And sometimes I party even when there's important things to do the next day, and only kind of regret it when I wake up.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Doing people's dishes and introducing them to new beers.

and now I'm on the go again... not sure where I'll be landing for a little while yet.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed in plenty of countries across Europe, met up over coffee to practice languages in Toronto, hosted some lovely people in Berlin and Amsterdam... I've learned that many times a CS experience doesn't necessary result in a reference on my profile page, which is kind of nice too...

And yeah, sometimes you don't really click with a fellow couchsurfer, but that's ok as well

Interests

Languages. Guitar. Electric guitar. Electric guitar solos. Air guitaring electric guitar solos.

Beer. Long nights out, elaborate meals for one, making sangria and cocktails for friends.

Looking at maps. Planning complex trips and hitchhiking routes that may or may not come true.

Books. Reading, questioning, questioning my line of questioning.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music? Lately?
Tame Impala,
Local Natives,
Alt-J,
Astrud Gilberto,
Tim Maia,
Darkside,
Brian Jonestown Massacre...
But actually, these kinds of descriptions never work out well for me... we can discuss in person, and share some music, books and stories.

At the time of writing, the last two non-study-related books I have read are:

The Prophet – Kahlil Gibran
What we talk about when we talk about love – Raymond Carver

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching the sun rise over Parque Nacional Lago Puelo in Chubut, Argentina.
Sending my voice out over the airwaves across Toronto.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a bit of Spanish, French, German or Dutch if you're interested. I'm open to picking up any language you may speak, and may end up pestering you with questions about vocabulary or grammar.

I love learning the history of the places I visit. I'm also a big fan of learning new recipes from people.

I can look over or proofread documents in English for you, can translate stuff in a few directions involving German, Spanish, French and English... so yeah, all stuff that Google can do for you in like 7 fucking seconds, YAY EMPLOYMENT!

Let's play guitar.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Whatever books I'm reading, some ninja-like vegetable-cutting skills and some songs on piano and guitar... depending on your interests.
