About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To constantly see life with a fresh set of eyes

ABOUT ME

I am a photographer and multimedia producer. My boyfriend graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography in the same program as me so we constantly immerse ourselves in this field and focus on outdoor lifestyle and recreation stories. I have a teardrop trailer and love to go camping in that and on road trips. We enjoy backpacking and traveling anywhere as well as the little pleasures like BBQing at home and playing video games on the couch.

PHILOSOPHY

"The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything."

"You must be the change you want to see in the world."
-- Mahatma Gandhi

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I learned about this through my boyfriend (Aaron Vogel: PHOTODEVOTO). We both love hosting! We are both photojournalists and are pursuing careers in media so we travel frequently. He traveled through Morocco through CS and I traveled through CS to do a documentary on Geocaching. We've hosted for quite a few people in Southern California.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've hosted for quite a few people when we lived in Ventura. I've introduced a few friends to the site and now we've recently settled to San Jose, California. We look forward to hosting more in this area.

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to movies, I'm happy with almost any romantic drama or a bloody horror. Those are by far my preferences but I have many favorite movies:

I'm good to go with either a sappy romance or a bloody horror...

Movies: 28 Days Later, 40 First Dates, Alien Trilogy, Arachnophobia, Ever After, Evil Dead, Fight Club, Finding Nemo, I Am Legend, Interview with the Vampire, Jaws, Labyrinth, Love Actually, Moulan Rouge, Night of the Living Dead, Pan Labyrinth, Pirates of the Caribbean, Pride and Prejudice, Requiem for a Dream, Resident Evil, Romeo + Juliet, Short Circuit, The Birds, The Dark Crystal, The Descent, The Exorcist, the Fifth Element, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Notebook, The Shining, The Sixth Sense, The Wizard of Oz, Titanic, Trainspotting

If I could have my nose in a book seven hours a day I would prefer to:

Books Les Miserables (Victor Hugo), Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen), Lord of the Rings (J. R. R. Tolkien), Wicked (Gregory Maguire), Rant (Chuck Palahniuk), The Four Agreements (Don Miguel Ruiz), The Time Traveler's Wife (Audrey Niffenegger), Stiff (Mary Roach)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I stayed in Pokhara, Nepal for four months on a break from college at Namaste Childrens House. My experiences there changed the direction of my life and put my values in check. It was in that beautiful location I realized my passion for story telling and headed to Brooks Institute of Photography to pursue a career in that field.
