ABOUT ME

I love laughing while riding my bicycle, fueling all this with homemade locally-grown wholesome yummy food, followed by dancing with fellow silly folk. I make badges (buttons) and am always looking for adventures. I try to live simply and am excited about the cultural (r)evolution necessary for transforming into a post-petroleum world.

PHILOSOPHY

To live everyday as a gift from the universe, and share this joy of living with everyone & everything around me. I hope to create & inspire a just equitable world that encourages everyone to share their beauty with existence!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As someone new to the official CS community but someone who has traveled on couches & hosted travellers for years now, I'm glad that now being in the group I can help out even more travelling folk whom i have not yet met!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In 2006 I spent nearly two months travelling with folk musician singer-songwriters, crashing on couches of folks that set up shows or simply members of the audience! Those times, along with hosting many different kinds of travellers at my houses in Oakland, really made clear the superiority of couchsurfing over other ways of travel.

Jitterbug Perfume, La Vita Bella, The God of Small Things, A Language Older than Words, Monkeywrench Gang! are some of the books I've enjoyed in the past. I never seem to remember movies and I feel I haven't seen my favorites yet, but I enjoy anything with an inspiring story and charming cinematography.

I've seen people from all over the continent come together and give it their all day-in & day-out in the volunteer clean-up efforts in New Orleans after Hurricanes Katrina & Rita. I've also seen an amazing array of rainbows & sunsets from many places on this globe.

I can share acupressure with you! It's ancient hands-on self-healing! I can make badges. I can make sauerkraut and fermented veggies of sorts. I can brew beer. I can tinker with bicycles. I can dumpster (or skip, as those of the UK call it). And I can laugh at the absurdity of life.
