ABOUT ME

Well, I can't complain, but sometimes I still do.... I write and travel for a living. I like words. I'm intrigued by the many elements and complexities of life and culture. I have my cynical tendencies (more-so nowadays), but I remain a prisoner of hope. I have been taking some genuine timeout from society as of late and traveling across North America. Needless to say, I've been up to some pretty amazing things. I was recently living and reporting on the student protests in Montreal and then working at a Korean BBQ in Chicago. Then I lived in the mountains of the Continental Divide, until I made my way over to California to surf in the Pacific Ocean. I've been couch surfing, sleeping in my truck and staying in hostels pretty much the entire trip; and I must say, I wouldn't have it any other way. I feel as though I have grown as a human being and a writer. I'm particularly intuitive and friendly. I'm also not annoying. I'm honest and well-cultured. I try to be cool whenever possible, but sometimes I feel like I have the soul of a clown, which forces me to burst at the most crucial moments. I really am no bother.

I'm interested in typical recreations: music, literature, beer drinking (it is a recreation for me), visual art, sports, traveling. I enjoy grand adventures and learning. I'm interested in interesting people, places and things. I suppose you could say I'm into nouns. I'm really good at: One-liners. Editing. Fixing the toilet and/or problems. Dressing myself. Making the best out of a bad situation. Guitar. Chess. Jokes. Learning. Athletics. Research. Back flips. Deducing. Aphorisms. Driving. Water-balloon fights. Holding my breath. Surfing. Cooking. Loving. Thinking before I speak. Leading the way, and getting lost. Probably some other stuff too.
