About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Being someone slightly more organised than I am!
ABOUT ME

-------------------LANGUAGE DISCLAIMER----------------------
I like languages , I don't want to speak english all the time (a feeling that grew since I moved to Berlin, where it's sometimes hard to convince people not to speak english), if you are proficient in any of the languages I can speak or pretend to speak, than I prefer to speak in that language! Write directly in French, Spanish or German and I'll appreciate it.

I am a bit eccentric, I am moody, usually in a good way but apart from being cheerful I can turn sad and also angry(but you should really piss me off!). I like staying with people, I am very interested whenever someone has something his-hers to say, and I love speaking rubbish as well.
I'm a chaotic person that likes to find randomness in life, at the same time I believe that people have to regulate their actions so that we can all live better.
The fact is that I think that having some kind of moral take on reality is important and I appreciate those people that live also to follow something greater than our personal lives (for whatever that means...)
I like to express myself through drawing, an activity that really takes all my attention for some magic moments.....
Summing up, I think that I am easygoing, funny outgoing but if you know me better you'll notice that I am complicated!
I think that some of the references I got by other couchsurfers tell much more than what I would have thought of writing about myself, so move on to those ones!

PHILOSOPHY

well, the thing is that I'm graduated in philosophy therefore the topic takes to my eyes a different meaning... and makes me feel like it's harder to give an answer! one could talk about very "basic" and still very important ideas you have and still feeling that it's far from the core of what really matters.
this might be a good start to define "my philosophy", I don't believe things are easy, they are the way you think them and hence there's always something that your personal subjective point of view will be lacking, and being able to express ourselves and compare ideas among other humans is the way to enrich our minds and at the same time tackle our own interior walls, in which we might feel safe and happy but at the same time closed and fenced out of the world.
I am a strong opponent of any ideological simplification of reality, in particular the latest and fast growing tendency towards conspiracy theories (oh man, I do hate conspiracy theories!). In general I think that too often a vast majority of people tends to speak about issues they don't know, pointing out vague and often improper causes of some facts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have had the chance to host much more than being hosted, that's the way it goes if you spend more time at home than travelling!
I want to get to know the people I host, this means hanging out together (when I can), sharing experiences, taking them around by car or scooter, and so on...
so bear in mind that MY HOUSE IS NOT A HOTEL.
This means that if you pretend to come here and lock yourself in your room until you get out from my place again it's not what you should do.
Usually it doesn't happen, it occurred to me only once, but man, I do get crossed if you treat me that way... so don't try it!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am a cs veteran, I have been hosting a lot in the past years, and have been hosted as well (but as I've spended most of the time in my hometown I had many more to host than to be hosted by!).
I'm sorry about not writing references at times, it doesn't really mean that I disliked someone, it's just that sometimes...I forget about it!

Interests

I'm just filling this up because useless rules want me to!!!! anyway, I like drawing and doing art(pencil and ink mainly), I do etching (involves metal plates, acid, hard and soft grounds and.... much more! in the end you print your plate and you get what you've been hardly working on, takes time and consistency) so that's the artistic side, I like to get informed about the world I live in, I like talking about politics and ideas, because I really think that even if they don't change the world they somehow shape it in the direction we want.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm into classic heavy stuff like Bergman, Kurosawa, Tarkowski... Italian stuff from the 60s and 70s, especially Dino Risi and his portraits of that booming unruly Italy, also Monicelli... When it comes to more contemporary italy it's time to mention Nanni Moretti, and lately the innovative Paolo Sorrentino (even though I didn't like so much the movie for which he won an oscar)
I also used to watch B-movies, I can recommend Paganini Horror and more rubbish from the 80s (krull, the beastmaster...)

Literature to me means classic stuff, such as Dostoevskij, Gogol, Kafka... postmodern americans as Pynchon and Foster Wallace... Among the Italians, Buzzati, Calvino and the Wu Ming collective

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did six months high school in new zealand, living with kiwi families... I have met a lot of people from all over the world and seen a wonderful country with the most relaxed and easygoing inhabitants... a very nice place to live in! and I started to fell like a citizen of the world, and also to see what a national culture is made of, if you have lived the whole life in the same place you just think it as normal, but if you move you can actually taste differences on yourself. apart from these profound feelings I did one bungee jump in the very world's first bungee site(sure, that's in N.Z. as well), but apart from that(after I discovered it costed twice because of that!), it was so scary, it took me some 3 minutes to jump!!!! ahahah, shame on me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can make any foreigner who doesn't like pasta change his mind, and even teach him-her-it the fine art of cooking it properly.... I'm pretty much like a wizard around his magic poison while I'm cooking, cooking is something... mystical! I could also take my hosts for a scary roman car ride in the city landscape, (too bad my scooter died! I may have another one, one day! and that would be even scarier)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Wisdom and melancholy. Perhaps happiness, but only at times, because life is bitter.
