About Me

PLEASE READ MY PROFILE (including information about my home) BEFORE SENDING A REQUEST.

I find it quite hard to pin myself down in a few words, but first of all, I love being among people; to chat, laugh and drink, end up in more serious conversations, or just dance the night away. In my professional life, I try to teach teenagers some German.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to get to know different places and people, to learn, grow and gain new perspectives: Couchsurfing seems a good way to reach that.

Interests

I love music, dancing, reading, being outside (on the beach, in the forest, in the mountains...), and having a good time with other people.

Music, Movies, and Books

There are a some groups/singers that have kept me company for years already. Patti Smith, Leonhard Cohen, Massive Attack, Lamb, Björk, Radiohead, Belle & Sebastian: I find myself listening to them again and again. But I always love to discover new stuff, so I listen to indie radio stations and my Discover Weekly playlist on Spotify a lot.

I try to visit the cinema every week, so I'm a bit of a film fanatic. Some of my favourite movies are Amélie, Il Meglio Gioventu, Das Leben der Anderen, La Vie d'Adele and more recently Call Me By Your Name and Cold War.

To name a few books that I really loved: On The Road - Jack Kerouac, Anna Karenina - Tolstoi, The Brothers Karamazov - Dostojewski, The Crimson Petal And The White - Michel Faber, Blindness - José Saramago and Die Wand - Marlen Haushofer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing experiences I've had in my life was going to a gig in London of this group called Lamb, which I totally loved at that time. I went there on my own, 17 years old, by plane (though I'd never taken one before) to meet a bunch of people from all over Europe that I only knew from the Lamb forum. Those 48 hours in London were probably the most intense and exciting of my life. But man, it was awesome!

I wrote this back in 2008 when I created this profile. The described experience was only 5 years ago at that time. It still feels like something amazing, though I did a lot of other amazing stuff after that :)
