ABOUT ME

I lived half of my life in Iran and the other half in France. I'm percussionist in a world music trio "Meikhaneh". You can listen to our music here : www.myspace.com/meikhaneh. Music, meeting others, conecting with them and learning from them are my goals...

PHILOSOPHY

The bird keeps the memory of the branch, and the branch, the smell of the bird !

Music, Movies, and Books

Music :
World music, and more pecisely "word fusion", such as John Mclaughlin's Shakti, Anouar Brahem, Subramaniam, Thierry Robin, Keyvan Chemirani, and so on. Also Fado, Flamenco...

Cinema :
My favourite film makers are Herzog, Kiarostami, Kurosawa, Mizoguchi, Sokurov, Bilge Ceylan, Jarmusch, Bergman, Pialat, De Sica...
I also like documentary films.

Litterature :
At the top, Hafez, Khayam and Rumi, Krishna for the Mahabharatta, Jahova for the crazy Old Testament, The principle of impermanence for the Suttas. Then, there are Jean Giono, Herman Hesse, Victor Hugo. And after them come Heinrich Boll, Gunter Grass, and a couple of other names.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I met a "lift man" in a hotel-restaurant in Mumbai who works twelve hours a day in an elevator, pushing the bottuns. He was very friendly and we talked a little bit every time I went there. Once, I finally asked him a stupid question I always wanted to ask :
"what do you think about your life ?"
And his answer was a real gift :
"There are ups and downs".
