ABOUT ME

Born in Lithuania, moved to Israel when I was 6 years old. I did the mandatory army service we have in Israel (yes, it's mandatory for girls too) and I think it was a positive and neccesary (sp?) experience.

Traveled around Europe for about 2 weeks every other year since I was 12. Went to Uni, got an engineering degree. Worked for a bit, saved some money and traveled around New Zealand and Australia for my first long-time (6 months) overseas experience.
Now I'm living in Tel Aviv, studying for my Masters degree.

PHILOSOPHY

Basically - Live and Let Live.
Do what you want, as long as you're not hurting anyone else.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I tried to pass a letter from a guy in Prague to his friend in Jerusalem. Hid the letter in a tree, noted some landmarks so he could give her instructions. Hopefully she had fun on the "treasure hunt" and found the letter eventually...

Update - she got the letter! Yay!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I crashed once at a friend-of-a-friends place in London. Slept on the floor for a few days, got to know the non-touristy areas of the city and get to know the locals - not an official CS experience but similar.

Met a great CSer in NZ, we traveled together for a few days and surfed some couches.

Centres d'intérêt

Scuba Diving, hiking, meeting new people, experiencing different cultures. I also like reading and movies with lots of explosions.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Movies - I like most of those directed by Tarantino and Kevin Smith (to name just two). NOT a big fan of romantic comedies, but I would watch almost anything with Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jim Carrey :)

Books - Mostly "Escapist Literature" (like Sci-fi and Fantasy), historical thrillers (such as Clavells "Shogun").
Some of my favourite writers are Douglas Adams, Christopher Moore, Isaac Asimov, but there are many more.

Music - I like guitars. Carlos Santana, Guns and Roses, Dire Straits, Pearl Jam...

I feel I haven't done most of my favourite actors/directors/writers/bands any justice by just mentioning a few... But there's no reason to write it all here - just ask :)

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Wildlife encounters - on my very 1st dive (Eilat, Israel) a dolphin swam by so close I could almost touch it. Getting just a few steps from sleeping sea-lions (Surat Bay, New Zealand). Swimming in the open ocean with Hector dolphins (Akaroa, New Zealand).

Extreme Activities - Skydiving in Wanaka, Canyon Swing in Queenstown - I can't believe I actually jumped from a cliff!

And of course, each time I go scuba-diving I'm amazed by the quiet and diversity of underwater life.
