ABOUT ME

Mat is an animal behaviourist (www.petbehavioursorted.com), and I run a horsey business in Scotland (www.ergonequine.com). We have two cats, two dogs, and two boys (1 and 4)

We travelled for 6 months around Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysian Borneo and Laos in 2006-2007, 3 months of that was by motorcycle - Soviet-made "Minsks". Highly recommended! See https://www.travelblog.org/Bloggers/Mat-and-Trace/.

In 2013 Mat rode his motorbike from Edinburgh to Cape Town via east Africa (www.matward.com).

We have also been able to visit Prague, Berlin, Krakow, Vienna, Slovenia, Budapest, Paris, Majorca, Marceille, Amsterdam, New York, Madrid, and Dublin since arriving in Scotland. Good times.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Mostly hosting so far, we really enjoy having people come stay with us. We live in a quiet rural location, so it's nice for it to feel a bit international every once in a while!

The north-Vietnamese mountains and backroads of Laos by Minsk. Underwater videography, and wreck diving on a 70m+ WWII US submarine. A walk for six days through Bornean virgin jungle with no path. Riding a motorbike the length of Africa.
