About Me

ABOUT ME

I am fortunate enough to do paid work that I love. I'm an activist educator, which basically means I get to support great folk doing important work and help make change happen. It's ace.

I'm also into good conversations, writing, good books, camping, swimming in the ocean, yummy vegie food, live music, dance, singing, synchronised swimming (yes really), road trips, radical cheerleading, community building, spending time in beautiful places, being with family and friends and riding my very sleek and classy bike.

I'm keen to learn more about growing food and become a better cook.

PHILOSOPHY

"Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing."
Arundhati Roy

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Keen to meet up for a coffee/drink/chat/picnic/walk. I'm fairly new to Tamaki Makaurau/Auckland myself, so keen to discover things together.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed with lovely folk in Vancouver, San Francisco, and Santa Cruz. Big thanks to Liz, Lesley, Holly, and Isleen.

Also informal surfing with, and hosting of, friends and friends of friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love stories. My fave authors are Barbara Kingsolver and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Particularly enjoy world music, especially when its live. I'm currently doing singing lessons so always on the look out for fun to sing songs. I enjoy a good doco, or any film that tells a good story.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Worked for Rape Crisis for 3 1/2 years - such a privilege to hear the stories of so many strong and tenacious women.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love good chats and always learn a lot through discussions. Lets talk and see what we discover.
