ABOUT ME

A spirited gal...

I love great minds, warm hearts, big smiles, deep conversation, fine food, music, dance, and life in general!

I want to live that life fully and teach my children to do the same... to have the courage to step out, speak up, be real.

My folks took their 4 children on a year long trip around Australia when there was just a dirt track!! (OK, so I'm that old!) We all have the wanderlust and have been exploring the world ever since. I took my own four kids around Australia in 2001... what an adventure!

I am passionate about a woman's right to birth safely and happily wherever she may be in the world. Have been a lot of places to talk about birth and I work with good people in Kenya where we have set up a fabulous birth centre. If you have skills in midwifery, medicine, building, gardening, teaching, sewing, (or whatever you have to offer) you may wish to connect with that community as you travel.

Always coming or going somewhere...love to connect through Couchsurfing. When I can't go to the world.. the world comes to me!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Lots of folks have passed through over the years.

Did a trip in the United States, with my niece and 3 daughters and a girlfriend from Baltimore... To my surprise and extreme pleasure, we found wonderful, generous, interesting, friendly folk who opened their homes and lives to our band of 6 (!)happy campers. We learned, we laughed, we made friends for life.

(and not-a-one axe murderer! Interesting to hear others response to our travels and our outlook on life to look upon our hosts as "friends we haven't met yet".)

Not much in the world cannot spark an interest in me! But particularly... birth, the ocean, the forests, red soil, indigenous issues, music, theatre, singing, reading, writing, travel, adventure and people people people!
