ABOUT ME

After a six month trip through Central-America in 2009 I decided to leave the Netherlands. I currently live in Antwerp, where I abode with the lovely Michelle Coenen, who is also on CS, so be sure you check out her profile as well.

I used to work as a freelance journalist. I still write the occassional article, but mainly I've given up journalism for fiction writing. To pay the bills I also work as a nightwatchman at a charming boutique-hotel in Antwerp.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Slowly but surely i'm getting more experienced in couchsurfing. Although when i'm travelling I still prefer a mix of couchsurfing, hostels and hotels. Guess I want the best of all worlds. By now I've stayed with several people and hosted several. All very pleasant experiences.

Interests

Lots. I consume a lot of culture, films and books in particular, but like sports as well. I'm addicted to watching cycling. I also like to cook, consume food and drinks, either at home or away. I'm a nightowl and like to go out. Finally, I have a thing for general knowledge quizzes.

Music, Movies, and Books

In music, I like words (good lyrics): Leonard Cohen, Simon & Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Tom Waits, The Beatles etc. Although a bit of Metallica now and then is great as well.

In Movies, I like words (good dialogue): Lost in Translation, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, In Bruges, Almost Famous, The Darjeeling Limited, Withnail & I, Sideways, anything Pixar and lots more.

And finally In books, I like words: I'm always reading. My favourite book is probably The World according to Garp.
