CURRENT MISSION
Just trying to enjoy life and stay sucker free.
ABOUT ME
I don't think you can fit "all about" anyone into an online network profile box. Instead, I guess I'll just put in a few words that best describe me at this moment; filmmaker, male, distracted, focused, black, thirty, brother, nephew, cousin, son, grandson, sonuvabitch, paranoid, loving, excited, anxious, motivated, day-dreaming, awestastic! (<-----I also make up words)
PHILOSOPHY
Nobody's perfect.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My participation thus far has been as a traveler. I would love to be able to host one day.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
The first trip that I ever took where I stayed with CS host was back in 2008. I was going to Denver, Colorado and Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota to record the protest and other activities going on at both the DNC and RNC for a documentary I'm working on. Not to get all sappy, but the warm hospitality that my CS host showed me provided an interesting contrast to the cold and brutal suppression I was baring witness to at the conventions.
When I came back home I put together a short blog with footage I shot of a mass arresting on my first day in St. Paul.
(There was a link here to the blog, but sadly it is no longer available)
Right after that my CS host and I partied all night, along with a friend of hers and a couple friends of mine from Seattle who I bumped into there in St. Paul. It was a great experience and to this very day I still chat with my Minneapolis CS host.
Interests
Sleeping on couches. Seriously, I just like to write, do film, work on art, and just have an all around good time.

Music, Movies, and Books
I always get overwhelmed when having to list my favorites from these mediums, because there are so many that no matter what I list, I will eventually realize that I forgot something and feel compelled to include it. As if not making sure that people reading this profile know that I love Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye is going to result in absolute chaos and no one will want to have anything to do with me.
I'll just say this, I've moved around a lot in my life (11 times during my childhood alone). Once I became and adult and started moving on my own, there are only three things that I always make sure to pack up. Can you guess what they are? That's right; all of my movies, all of my music, and all of my books. Most of everything else I usually just give away.
Okay, I'll name a few each. Off the top of my head. Because you read this far.
Books: People's History of The United States by Howard Zinn; Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut; Life of Pi by Yann Martel; Why We Can't Wait by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.;
Music: Kanye West; Sia; Outkast; Prince; Stevie Wonder; The Beatles; Kid Cudi; Janalle Monae; Nirvana; early Weezer;
Movies: Fight Club; Wendy and Lucy; Boogie Nights; Malcolm X; Crooklyn; Being Jonh Malkovich; Magnolia; Jackie Brown;
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It's hard for me to say off the top of my head. Not to be get all Louis C.K., but I think damn near everything is amazing.
