I have been a PhD researcher for the past 4 years and I don't remember the last book I read for sheer pleasure. I look forward to graduating in 2013, just so I can start reading for fun again.

I've been hosting friends at my place wherever I was (Dublin, Reykjavik, the Icelandic West Fjords, Bologna, Milan, Nottingham, and so on) although never as an official CSer. But I have travelled as one!, and visited Amsterdam, Toronto and some other places in Italy through CS.

Crossing the Polar Circle in Iceland was the first turning point of my life. The second one was when I stood in front of the Canadian-US border at Niagara Falls. Yes - I do have a thing for borders, and crossing them, too.

I make a mean italian tiramisu with a saffron twist and can teach you about it, although every traditional italian grandma would probably never even dare to try this version.
