ABOUT ME

Hey! We are 2 (we were 4 :( )kool (yup, with a k) kids who love to have a good time. We are pretty shy at first, but once you get to know us we can be really crazy. We're open minded, nice, and creative, and we're pleased to meet you!

We've taken 4 years of German but our skills have yet to be tested...that will be a scary day when our skills are tested.

We are students heading off to college (oh yea!!) this year and are are planning to backpack through Europe this summer. We joined couch surfing to meet people and to, well frankly, hopefully surf some couches.

Interests

Caitlin: Harry Potter, drawing, anything Danish, learning new languages, especially German,volleyball, traveling, National Geographic, Tom Felton and HP characters, Model UN, Saving the World, the environment, concerts, Maroon 5,and I love to write and I want to be a Journalist and possibly live abroad. Oh, and I'm an overall happy person :)

Monika: world cultures, exploring the world, party, trying new things, lacrosse, American football, photography, outdoorsy adventures like hiking, the environment, volunteering (I help out kids who have disabilities), Disney, games, dancing, and having a good time. That's me in a nutshell. Other than that I'm short, a vegetarian, and I am fond of oxford commas.

Music: The Thrills, Junior Senior, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Shout out Louds, Beach Boys, Beirut, Vampire Weekend, Maroon 5, John Mayer, just to name a few...mostly indie and current, popular stuff, but tend to jam to anything.

Books: Harry Potter, The Things They Carried, The Secret Garden, classic novels and authors like Edith Wharton, Lewis Carroll, The Bell Jar, Lolita, The Great Gatsby...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

hmm this is a hard one..
I (Caitlin) have had illegal street vendors hide in our travel group to avoid being arrested by Italian police in Florence, tried numerous methods to make the smallest hotel room I've ever seen big enough for three people, including rearranging furniture, and I've reenacted scenes from Harry Potter on a train to Paris.

I(Monika) think the one amazing thing I've done was when I was in Barbados. I went on a hike along cliffs that plummeted right towards the ocean, then came upon the remains of the HAARP project, and watched the sunset. Later that night, I was relaxing, looking at the stars, and finding shapes in the clouds when 2 sea turtles came on the beach to lay eggs (although they didn't actually lay their eggs)...It was great day.

Teach, Learn, Share

We can teach socially awkward dances, games, sports, and we can sort of teach the things we've learned in school, except math

We like to learn languages and learn them better. Extreme sports like sky diving; cricket and rugby would be fun to learn too.
