About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I am on a mission to see as much of the world as I can; I don't think there's a place in the world I wouldn't go given half a chance!
ABOUT ME
I have been lucky in that I was born into a family that travels as a matter of course so I think the desire to travel is in my blood! I hate flying for several reasons (give me a bus or boat or train any day) which makes things difficult as there's very little option when you need to leave the bottom of Africa, but I count myself as very fortunate to be able (in theory) to hop on a plane and go anywhere. Now I just have to exploit this to it's full potential! And I'm studying art because I want to be an artist, or at least because I really REALLY like art. And I'm not convinced that city living is for me. And I suppose I'm your basic human being?
PHILOSOPHY
Be nice.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Not entirely sure that I do participate, apart from offering words of wisdom and promoting CS to everyone and hoping kind people will host me when I can't find a place to rest my tired, aching, tourist body when I need one..?
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None to speak of. At least not under the CouchSurfing brand. Not yet anyway. Hopefully soon! Unless using the forums for useful information counts as experience, in which case 100% successful!
Interests
I'm interested in anything really, but particularly art. I love to learn methods in craft and design and I'd really enjoy studying a trade like construction or farming. I get a thrill out of working in the garden, or with animals or in basic community service (as cheesy as that sounds). I was raised as a conscientious capitalist so whatever that encompasses... I like cooking. I read quite a lot. How detailed should this be? I like collecting postcards. I like a good nap. Watching TV. I start a lot of projects and I don't always see them through. I like walking and swimming, so it's a good thing I live in Cape Town. This is very difficult to answer in one sitting.....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The first thing that comes to mind is swimming with a whale shark. They are spectacularly beautiful! Meeting Nelson Mandela! Experiencing total and utter kindness from a stranger who I could only communicate with using mime, at my lowest point when I was traveling alone. Will never forget it! It felt like I was an adopted grandchild for the day :)
