ABOUT ME

Val is looking for adventure and learning and meeting new people. Opening her mind to things that she doesn't even know about yet. She enjoys sketching birds, music (listening and playing), loving, helping, dancing, and horses. She is also quite the whistling enthusiast. Also her hair is large and bushy.

Kathryn is doing a trip around the world in order to grow and see things and especially learn about learning. She loves dancing and singing and making things out of scraps of paper, and small children (not in a creepy way), and sells poems for a dollar each. She is a warrior wordsmith. Which is way too much fun.

Together, Val and Kathryn are like Lewis and Clark. They are discovering whole new continents within themselves. They also love things that are cheesy.

The other day I was at work and I was standing in long grass and I looked down and saw my feet in the grass, and shoes between them.
We need to teach our children and teach ourselves and each other that shoes are not important and that loving each other is.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is the story of how Val and Kathryn became friends.
One day in Sociolinguistics lecture, a ridiculous guy at the back kept saying obvious and stupid things. Kathryn and Val shared a look. A look of understanding, of hilarity, of future friendship. That look was duplicated, across the room, the very next class, and the next one, and the one after.
Both knew that a friendship was inevitable. Instead of rushing, we just loved each other across that room, sharing our hilarious looks through one of those lectures that just doesn't end.
Then one day, on the last day of class, we went for a beer.
It was as if we had gone for a beer every day before then.
And we have been going for beers frequently since.
