About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Making my world more human through travel.
ABOUT ME
I have lived in Lincoln my whole life. I went to my local community college where I earned an Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration. I enjoy the outdoors a great deal, and spend a lot of time thinking of my next backpacking trip. I like playing various musical instruments. Though I am not an expert at any one instrument, I have enjoyed playing the mandolin, guitar, penny whistle, jaw harp, and piano, among other instruments. I make glass jewelry as a hobby. I love to travel. Mostly I am avid about backpacking, but I also took the greatest enjoyment from my 5 month tour of SE Asia and India in 2009-10.
PHILOSOPHY
Our goal should be to eliminate the perception that we are separate from each other and that our interests should outweigh those of others. One should strive to consider the costs his/her actions have on the community and nature. We should live our lives as our heart compels us to and not worry and stress over choices. And, "we should come home from adventures, and perils, and discoveries every day with new character," as Thoreau says.
"As soon as you concern yourself with the 'good' and 'bad' of your fellows, you create an opening in your heart for maliciousness to enter. Testing, competing with, and criticizing others weaken and defeat you."
~ Morihei Ueshiba, "The Art of Peace"
"In the practice of tolerance, ones enemy is the best teacher"
~ Dalai Lama

Music, Movies, and Books
Walden by Thoreau
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Nearly getting lost in Halong Bay (Gulf of Tonkin) in a kayak was fun. Angkor Wat and Taj Mahal were spectacular. I've seen many incredible sights in my countries many magnificent national forests. 10,000 Lakes Festival, Wakarusa Music Festival, and Rothbury Music Festival are wonderful experiences that cannot be adequately described in words.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you stop through Lincoln, I can teach you about glass art. I'm always down for playing music, riding horses, target shooting, and riding bicycles of which I have two.
