ABOUT ME

I am fulltime fiddler for Ted Ness and the Rusty Nails, a Missoula bluegrass band. I have no car or cell phone and enjoy the freedom that this provides. When I'm not fiddling I enjoy teaching music, biking, swimming and hiking the great Montana wilderness. I'm also pretty handy in the kitchen and always willing to help friend or stranger in anyway I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed for the first time in Ohio while on a transcontinental bike trip with my uncle Pete. I have not had much time to travel since then but I did have the chance to host a few surfers while in Billings MT.

I love enjoying new experiences and searching out new music. Very interested in world music and folk traditions. I am fascinated by the arts of man and nature in there many varied forms.

I enjoy watching documentaries on artists and the changing world in which we live. As far as music goes, I spent most of my life studying the great composers of western music and have performed in countless symphony concerts across the US. Now I play mostly bluegrass and solo improvisations while studying music from all over the world. It is much more likely that you will find me reading the score to RITE OF SPRING than a book in english but when I do read books I enjoy works from the transcendentalists and sacred Buddhist texts.

-Taught a group of children how to play the violin, read music and play the trumpet.
-Produced solo Improvised violin concerts
