Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To take full advantage of my current location in the world
ABOUT ME
Well, I'm positive and optimistic and tend to see the best in people and situations. I get excited by little things, like fish or parrots, and big things, like mountains. I'm more at home climbing trees or himalayers than having my nails done, and my least favourite activity is possibly shoe shopping. I appreciate the free things in life, like camping, walking, free food... and I would rather see the world from the roof of a crowded local bus than an air-conditioned coach. The thing that drives me most mad in the world is injustice. The best thing is random acts of kindness from strangers. Oh, and 70% cocoa chocolate.
PHILOSOPHY
It is better to regret doing something than to regret not doing something.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted many people over the years, and attended some meet-ups, but rarely been hosted.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Becoming jaded. I have almost daily requests from people without references and who haven't even bothered to fill out their profiles, and this really annoys me. I will now only consider hosting people who make a real effort with their application.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like intelligent music that has a tune, and preferably uses more than three chords. And I like films that have a good story line and are not based entirely on guns. Oh, and I like maps.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seen: A 7 meter long Morray Eel hiding in a wreck 30m below the sea.
Done: 2 day camel trek across the Wahiba Sands, Oman. Unbelievably peaceful.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to say I'll teach you the violin... but it may take slightly longer than a few days! But I could introduce you to Rachmaninof or Shostakovich.
