About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Creating Peace

ABOUT ME

I'm optimistic. There are endless opportunities in the world, and I'm all about taking advantage of them. I like to create. Energy makes more energy, makes more energy, etc...
I like to understand a new idea, learn something new every day.

We will get to know each other better when we meet up.

PHILOSOPHY

If you believe...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host and get hosted!

I opened a food truck in Traverse City, MI and am looking for good (hard working) people to join in this endeavor. It is a Local, "Farm to Table" food truck serving healthy locally sourced food. If you are traveling and looking for a unique and fun job send me a message. I probably won't check the board, so send it directly to my page.

Thanks! and happy travels!

David

If you like to sail, let's go! (check out couch section). I like to cook, or work on creative projects.

This is a post I put on "Hitchhikers" group. This is one way I participated in CS (note: I am not trucking now, this is an old post)
"I am working as a truck driver and make deliveries all over the lower 48 states. I am also a hitchhiker, and would like to give back to the thumb traveling community while I have the chance to. I could give a hitchhiker work while traveling with me as well if you are physically fit, and don't mind a little hard work. If you just want to travel and not work, you could just catch a ride. Let me know what's up. Enjoy the road."

Sharing ideas is a great thing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, so good

Interests

I like to travel on the cheap, so as to get a feel for the place I'm in. I prefer to stay off big planes, if it can be avoided.

Music, Movies, and Books

Any music that moves me, I'm into that. I like playing music the most, I play the drums (set / kit) myself.

Great movies: Fresh, Clerks, Atanarjuat - the fast runner, The Sting, Officespace, Batman, The Shawshank Redemption, Planet Terror, Austin Powers, many others...

Great books: The Power of One, Perfect Health, Breakfast of Champions, non-fiction of all sorts, many more...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Racing a guy on donkey while on my bicycle though the mountains in Turkey. He was winning uphill, I was winning downhill!

Teach, Learn, Share

Things I would enjoy teaching / sharing: -how to bake bread, and cooking with whatever is available-construction projects, I have experience with many aspects of general construction and would be happy to work with you on a project you got going, or something interesting that needs to be started-vegetable oil conversions / engine work, I work on engines, and am most familiar with diesel engines. I mostly would be interested in converting diesel engines to run on vegetable oil, or working on any alternative energy building project. -I've been told I'm a good driving instructor (I don't get my feathers ruffled too easy) , so I'd be happy to give driving lessons (anything from a bicycle to a tractor-trailer)-getting fit/exercising
-sailing
