ABOUT ME

I live alone in the rainy, windy South West of Ireland; however, when the sun shines, the countryside is very beautiful. I work in a small, friendly hotel as a receptionist. I love to be in conversation with people when there is a real contact, where something of their humanity makes itself known.
Vivo solo en el Suroeste de Irlanda, un lugar lluvioso y ventoso; sin embargo, cuando el sol brilla, el paisaje parece muy hermoso. Trabajo en un pequeño hotel familiar de recepcionista. Me encanta conversar con gente cuando hay un verdadero contacto, cuando se ve algo de la humanidad de la otra persona.

PHILOSOPHY

Act morally, be honest with yourself but also be kind to yourself and, therefore, to others. Acknowledge your achievements each day even if they seem small and insignificant at the time. Never think it's too late.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Fairly low-key at the moment. I'm here waiting to have a cup of coffee with you and show you around my part of West Cork if ever you make it here! Bastante medido actualmente. Estoy aquí esperando a que tomes un cafe conmigo para que pueda enseñarte la región donde vivo.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only couchsurfed once in Sweden but I was fortunate to be with people who taught me a little of their experience of living there. Very positive.
Solo he hecho el Couchsurf una sola vez en Suecia pero tuve suerte en estar con gente que me enseño un poco de su experiencia de vivir allí. Muy positiva.

Interests

Language (I love words, phrases,nuances or sounds that I often come across), politics, society, music, life! I would like to speak Irish - not doing so makes me feel incomplete.
Lenguaje/idiomas (me encantan las palabras, sonidos, frases hechas, matices), la política, sociedad, música, ¡en fin, la vida! Me gustaría hablar gaélico -No hablarlo me hace sentir incompleto.

Music, Movies, and Books

As regards music, I like whatever moves me, makes me happy or sad or thoughtful, makes me want to dance or sing I do like a nice melody, though! I am still trying, after over 30 years, to play the guitar and piano well enough to accompany myself - it's never too late! I read novels and historical works.
En cuanto a música, me gusta todo lo que me conmueva, que me toque para producir una sensación de felicidad o tristeza o lo que sea. Sigo intentando, tras 30 años, tocar la guitarra y el piano (pero no al mismo tiempo) lo suficientemente bien para acompañarme cuando canto - ¡nunca es tarde!

Leo obras históricas y novelas.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ummm .. I don't think I've ever done anything amazing. As to something amazing I have seen ... that would be to have looked down on the Ría de Vigo in Galicia - the best place I have ever lived.
No he hecho nada asombroso. En cuanto a algo maravilloso que he visto, bueno esto sería haber contemplado la Ría de Vigo en Galicia - el mejor sitio en el que jamás he vivido.
