ABOUT ME

I have a rich sweet life, good relationships, useful work, a handmade house in the country and an office in town that I go to on an irregular basis. Politically radical, spiritually pagan, I'm attracted to nature, deep friendships, transformational politics. We give good hospitality.

Ilana fled Brazil when she was 17 and lived a life in Israel before she came to the U.S. She speaks and writes Portuguese, Spanish, Hebrew and English, ran a non-profit for many years and is a lot of fun to live with.
We have a rammed earth house we built out in the woods of Silk Hope, just a short drive from Chapel Hill, off an un-named tributary of Terrells Creek in the Haw River watershed of the Cape Fear basin.

Informal all my life, this is my first experience with an organization. We host a lot of people at our house.

Plant-lore and identification. Earth building techniques. Facilitation. Cooking. Magical realism. Strong woman science fiction.

Ilana interprets in several languages, tells good stories in all of them, makes a mean black bean soup, is a good photographer,collects bones, just to start with.
