ABOUT ME

After having taken an extended hiatus from surfing and hosting, I've resurrected my couchsurfing account in hopes of having similarly positive experiences with welcoming strangers across the United States.

I'm currently traveling across the U.S. Having left home on December 3rd, I intend to remain traveling until April 1st, seeing as much of the continental U.S. as possible.

I am looking for places to stay, people to meet, and suggestions on things to see.

A little about me: I study Philosophy and am incredibly enthusiastic about it. I enjoy having conversations about the human experience of love, friendship, death, and ethical vagueness among other things. You can also find me on Instagram as JmBrln.

PHILOSOPHY

My areas of interest are ancient philosophy, death and dying, applied ethics, and German idealist/moral philosophy... That's about as personal as it gets.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I have been telling anyone and everyone about how lovely I think couchsurfing is! I travel when I can, and do my very best to host as many surfers as am able to.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had a couple nice stays with some nice people locally, and in Canada. I've also been incredibly lucky enough to host many people from all over the world, some of which I've become close friends with!

Interests

In addition to being very interested in formal academic philosophy , I am grateful for the many instances in which informal philosophical discourse takes place in every day life with friends and acquaintances. I consider it an interesting and important quality to cultivate awareness and sharpen listening skills in conversation.

I also ride motorcycles and would really enjoy the opportunity to take one for a spin at some point along my trip!

Additionally, I work in a local coffee shop that emphasizes unique methods of coffee brewing. We roast our own coffee and It's very delicious.

Actors(in no particular order): Bill Murray, Zooey Deschanel, Marlon Brando Tom ,Waits, Gene Hackman, Jason Schwartzman,Carey Grant, Audrey Hepburn,Gene Wilder,Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro, Johnny Depp, Uma Thurman,George Carlin.
Theres lots more, I just cant recall them all at once.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can't really teach much, but i'd love to learn anything. I'm really good at sharing my thoughts! I also have a pretty extensive background in formal academic philosophy and would be happy to discuss the ways in which philosophical inquiry can benefit individual growth.
