PHILOSOPHY
Hmmm...I believe that one of the greatest problems facing our society is the tendency of the majority of people to say "I can't" before "I can." I've come across countless individuals with lofty goals and ambitions who have the talent and ability to realize their dreams. However, most of them will never be able to accomplish what they really dream of because they tend to focus principally on the reasons why they shouldn't chase their goals, as opposed to the reasons why they should.
I decided at an early age that I wanted to see the world. I told my friends and family that after college, this is what I was going to do. Most of them didn't believe me; most of them assumed that I'd wind up "stuck" in a traditional career path like most everyone else. So many people have told me that I'm "lucky" or they're "jealous." Why?? If you want to travel (or live any other personal goal) just do it. Don't think too much about the potential negative consequences. Have I faced difficulties in my life? Of course I have, but the most rewarding experiences come from working through these issues and realizing your dreams.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I surfed with some great people while backpacking in Europe, hosted some travelers while living in Korea, and now that I'm back home in LA would love to meet awesome people from all over the place and help them have a great experience here.
Interests
Travel, people, places, nature. I love outdoor sports like hiking, kayaking, and mountain climbing. I used to play baseball before I hurt my shoulder, and I still enjoy weightlifting and following pro sports. I love to play guitar and sing, but I'm terribly out of practice at the moment! I sometimes enjoy wild parties, bars, and clubs, but only in the right company :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Don't watch many movies, but I'll enjoy anything with a good plot and decent acting. Love documentaries, especially Vice.
As far as music goes, I like indie and alternative folk, country, and rock. Vance Joy, Mumford and Sons, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Imagine Dragons, Bon Iver, Garth Brooks to name a few.
As far as books go, I'm really into travel narratives and sports biographies, but honestly I don't read a lot of books. I do, however, make sure I spend at least an hour or two a day reading about world news and issues.
