About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Help people as much as I can ... Make new friends in the process.
ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in India. I finished my bachelors degree in 2005 and moved to Fairbanks, Alaska for Masters in Petroleum Engineering program. I immensely enjoyed my stay in AK and made a lot of new friends. I tried a lot of things I would have never tried if I did not travel out of India. That is the reason why I always enjoy traveling, you end up doing and seeing a lot of things you would have never even dreamed of.
After my graduation, I moved to Houston, TX in 2007 for work and have been living here ever since. I have been working as a Senior Petroleum Engineer for a small petroleum firm. This city has a feeling like Mumbai, minus the exertion of commuting in Mumbai. I love this city a lot and everything I have come to experience in this city. This city has given me a lot of friends (within and outside of CS), some of them already feel like a part of my family.
If you ever asked my friends they would describe me as fun loving, easy going, moody, passionate about things and people I care, dependable and down-for-anything kinda guy. But the best way to know me would be meet me and see it for yourself. ;)
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in a lot of cliche philosphies:
- You have one life, make the most of it.
- Live and let live.
- Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been a member of Houston couchsurfing family since late 2008. Since then I have hosted numerous couchsurfers traveling through Houston. I have also made some irreplaceable friends in some of the local couchsurfers.
I mostly participate by hosting travelers through Houston and also attending several local meetings throughout the city. I plan to show my surfers a great time and help them enjoy their stay in every way I can.
I am also participating in the First Texas Annual Couch Crash hosted by Houston from October 27 to October 31, 2011. I will be organizing a few events as a part of the couch crash.
I have accepted the responsibility of keeping the Third Thursday event going forward, since my dear friend Jerrod moved out of Houston. As the organizer of Third Thursday, I plan a meeting of local and traveling couch surfers at a different bar every month.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: The list can go on and on. However, I prefer comedy, horror, romantic, action and thriller genres of movies.
Music: I like listening to any kind of music in general, except ear-splitting metal. However, I am a little biased to Bollywood and country music.
Books: I have to mention Harry Potter series (I am over-the-top in love with this series), a lot of Robert Ludlum books. I don't read very much, but always open to suggestions about interesting reads.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Snow-mobiling for 32 hours in 3 days from Fairbanks, AK to Chena Hot Springs and back
- Sea Kayaking in Whitter, AK
- White water rafting on the 6 Mile river in Hope, AK
- Watched the Northern Lights Kick-in while sitting in Chena Hot Springs, when it was -50 F
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy sharing and talking about my work, basically how oil is produced from the reservoirs.... if you are interested in a lesson in that. :)
