ABOUT ME

I have recently returned from a 3 month tour of Europe, the Uk & Ireland and fell in love with travel. I discovered I was really good at it. I lived in Sydney for 25 years and moved back to South Australia in 2005. I am a journalist. In Sydney I was music journalist for 10 years writing for The Drum Media. Prior to that I was an actress, drama teacher and filmmaker. I went back to nursing in 2003 as there was no more work in Sydney the industry dried up. Under John Howard the ARTS suffered greatly thus not many films have been coming out of Oz for quite a while. Slowly the film and TV industry has been recovering but now with the credit crunch and looming global recession no one is putting any money into the industry, too high risk. Since returning I have been incredibly restless. I want to keep traveling. I wont be going back to nursing. Although a very rewarding job I want to devote my time to creative pursuits. I am currently in transition. I am staying with my parents as I await a possible job in Tasmania if that falls through I will be moving to Melbourne. A wonderful city. If you've never been there then you are welcome to stay when I get a pad.

PHILOSOPHY

What will be will be. Let people live the lives they want. It is for no one to judge. I don't believe in the philosophy of treat others as you would treat yourself as some people treat themselves very badly. So its more about being OPEN to all the possibilities. Its not a love in type philosophy more of an acceptance of different people, cultures and lifestyles. Having studied human behaviour from all walks of life I can safely say we are all the same in many ways. I love life and living and making new discoveries.

Too many to fit into this box. Safe to say all types of music. A good song is a good song no matter who sings it. Movies on the other hand is another matter. I only like bad films if they are truly B grade and so bad they're funny. I'm partial to indie films and music. I like the occasional blockbuster but most of the time they are disappointing and a huge waste of money.

Being a music journalist was a great experience. For 10 years I saw every band I could that came to Sydney or all the little garage bands. The most amazing is in hindsight. My first Big Day Out (Annual music festival) was also Nirvana's first BDO. Their album Nevermind went # 1 around the world while they were here in Sydney. I met the boys backstage. They were as nervous as I was. Over 50,000 people screaming for them to come on stage and they blew them away. The best experience but also very sad indeed. I still can't believe Kurt Cobain is dead. He was so polite and nice when I spoke to him. Totally real. Anyway there have been great, amazing gigs that I've seen as a music journalist, but that tops it.

We NEVER stop learning and growing no matter how old you are. I can teach you to write, drama, script writing, make a film or help you if you're sick. And you can teach me anything you like. I'm open to learning as much as I can about everything and anything.
