About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Getting to know new people and cultures.

ABOUT ME

How to describe myself? Currently I'm in a phase where I have to start acting like a grown-up person and I'm not sure how I feel about that. Being a student I always felt safe, because besides my studies, I didn't have to think about serious stuff like paying bills. That is changing very soon. Me and my boyfriend are going to have a place of our own. Very exiting! But in the same time a bit scary as well. Having to think about electricity, furniture, paying rent,… not really what I'm used to. But I guess once your almost 25, this is inevitable.

Besides all that, I like to be around with other people sharing experiences. Studying Social and Cultural Anthropology at the university of Leuven already helped with that. I have met a lot of new people from all over the world where I had very interesting conversations with. I like to spend my time at Pangaea, the international meeting centre for students. I find it inspiring to here their stories and knowledge about all kind of issues.

My travel experience till now is limited to European countries and Marocco. But this is going to chance in the summer: my boyfriend and I are heading to Canada! In the future I would really like to go to Nepal and Thailand. Africa and Latin-America are also on my to-do list.

PHILOSOPHY

Live the life as it comes. Sometimes that works out really well, but sometimes I can be really frustrated with what happens in the world. But I'm trying to stay positive even with the political changes that are happening in this very small country I'm living in.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have a very large and comfortable couch. Two people can sleep in it, if they are not to big. We also have a double airmatras available.

Depending on our working schedule it is possible to have people over to sleep. If you ask it on time (especially during weekends) then we can make time to join you to Leuven.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed together with my boyfriend in Calgary and had a really nice experience. We are definitely surfing again and are hoping we might host as well some time :)

Interests

Travelling, photography (reflex & lomo), going to music festivals, different cultures, asian food, hiking, volunteering at Oxfam, playing board games, playing Kubb!!, visiting art galeries, museum, …

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been to Barcelona two years ago and I was really amazed by this city. It was everything I like in a city. Nice buildings, nice art, and most importantly: the seaside!

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to share knowledge I have obtained through my studies in anthropology. Talking with other people about what's going on in the world and learning new stuff about other people's culture and interest is something I really like.
